Catch the Rhododendron Walks This Spring!

Rhododendron Walks at the Mendocino Coast Botanical GardensAt Cleone Gardens Inn, we strive every day to mix the comfort of great lodging with the beauty of Northern California. Nature plays a big part in the activities available for guests at the Inn, so any time there are local events happening that really speak to the sublime scenery of the Mendocino Coast, we make it known to our visitors.

So, of course we have to mention the rhododendron walks this spring!

Only a ten-minute drive from the Inn lies the Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens, which, at any point in the year, really, is a pleasure to visit. But every Saturday in early spring, they offer walks throughout the grounds to see more than 1,000 rhododendrons coming into seasonal bloom, planted by some of the best growers in the area. Visitors will be able to see the Gardens’ signature collection, and wander through the maze of endless beauty.

The tours are free with Gardens entry—which costs $15, or free with membership—and are offered by two local “roadie” experts, as the Gardens call them. Every year, this is a must-see for our guests, and it never ceases to amaze them. For more information or photos on what to expect on the rhododendron walks this spring, check out the Gardens site today.

If you’re looking to book a quiet, spring retreat in the coming weeks, look no further than the Cleone Gardens Inn, a small boutique hotel on the Mendocino Coast that is pet-friendly, connected to a number of luscious trails and gardens, and only a short drive away from everything this region has to offer.
