Enjoy Holiday Fun at the Seasonal Model Train Show

There’s nothing like the holiday season. Everything is cheerful and cozy, and the town is all dressed up in bright, festive lights! But, if you had a toy train track that motored around your Christmas tree when you were a kid, then it’s not really the holidays until you’ve checked out a few cool trains. Luckily, the Mendocino Coast Model Railroad & Historical Society is sponsoring a model train show at the Botanical Gardens!Enjoy Holiday Fun at the Seasonal Model Train Show

1930s and 1950s Trains

You may take a train to work, but that vehicle looks nothing like the cool, classic trains of the past. Come check out model trains from the 1930s through 1950s, and get a taste of the old-fashioned locomotives! From the first invention of the train to the latest, and from the smallest models to the largest, this show has it all.

Model Sizes to Full Scale

That’s right, you don’t get to just look at the tiny toy trains—you can climb aboard a life-sized model!

Play Date

Kids who love trains can check out the Thomas the Tank engine models on display, and spend a while choo-chooing Thomas around the track. This event is great for kids of all ages, so even if your little ones are too old for toy trains, bring them by!

Piece of History

If you’re familiar with the Skunk Train, come see what it looked like between 1915 and 1930!

The seasonal model train show will take place at the Mendocino Botanical Gardens from December 15th through December 24th, 11 am to 4 pm. When you’re done checking out the trains at the Garden entrance, take a tour of the impressive botanical gardens.
