As kids, being out of school and seeing nothing but weeks of freedom and sunshine was what we lived for. But it’s easy to forget that carefree feeling we used to get when we become working adults. We have heavy workloads, deadlines, meetings and so forth. Many working professionals have a minimum of vacation days to use during the year, but a lot don’t actually take them. Not only are vacations good for your health, but they may also help productivity at work as well.
Research suggests that when high-level professionals take time off, they are significantly more productive than those who spend more time working. When professionals take vacation time, they tend to foster their creativity, reconnect with themselves and return to work fully refreshed and refocused. Vacations prolong the ability to think clearly, thus improving at job responsibilities and overall performance.
I think we can all agree that vacations make people happy. When we return from a vacation, our bonds with one another are strengthened because we feel better. Relationships are able to improve when people rest, reduce their stress levels and relax. When we don’t take vacations we tend to be cranky, irritable and feel much older, experiencing both physical and emotional pain more often.
We all need time off from work and our regular schedules. Breaking our daily routines can help relieve stress, so not having any plans, getting more sleep and simply doing nothing helps us more than we think. Leave the worries that occupy our minds everyday behind when on vacation and your body will feel light and carefree again.

With the first official day of summer shortly approaching, you’re probably thinking about all of the trips you want to take to fill your summer days with fun adventure. But you can’t fully enjoy all of the fun times without your dog can you?
Luckily, traveling with pets has become a lot easier thanks to pet-friendly airlines and hotels like Cleone Gardens Inn. If you’re planning on visiting us in Fort Bragg, CA and need to travel by plane, read these tips on how to make plane rides easier for your pets and you!
Visit your vet ahead of time
Many airlines require proof of your pet’s good health and recent vaccinations before flying. Look up the rules for your airline and schedule a visit to your vet prior to your vacation. At the vet, be sure to discuss your dog’s age, health and breed since some dogs such as pugs and bulldogs have respiratory problems due to heat or lack of oxygen.
To avoid being stressed at the airport, make sure your dog’s carrier is approved by your airline. If your pet is traveling in the cabin with you then a soft-sided carrier will work but as cargo the carrier must be in a hard-sided crate. Also try introducing your dog to the carrier they’ll be using so they become familiar and comfortable.
Pet relief stations
Learn about the airports you’ll be flying in and out of before taking off. As of August 2016, federal regulation requires airports that serve more than 10,000 passengers per year to have pet relief stations available in every terminal. Pet Friendly Travel has a list of the airports that provide animal relief areas inside the terminal, post security. Some airports have scratchy grass areas while others offer real grass and play rooms. Refer to the list before bringing your pooch along with you on your next adventure so you’ll feel more at ease.
Once you’re on the plane your dog will probably settle down and accept what’s happening, so there is no need to worry the entire time if you follow these three simple steps beforehand. We are a very pet friendly hotel here at Cleone Gardens Inn, and will provide you with information about dog friendly places and beaches within the area.
