The first day of summer, aka the Summer Solstice is just around the corner and people everywhere are trying to figure out how they want to enjoy the longest day of the year. Well if you will happen to be in the Mendocino County area that day, why not stop out to RIVINO for the first annual Wine and Swine Roast? The name may raise a few eyebrows but trust us when we tell you that you’ll want to hear more about this great event.
Taking place on June 21st, this boutique family winery located right along the Russian River will open its doors for an evening of wine, music, fun and of course, pork. But before any of that, there will be a ton of night-before preparation in order to ensure that all event-goers are presented with a delicious meal that next day. So what exactly does that entail? Well RIVINO is taking the roasting process to a whole new level, choosing to start the fire at around 2am the night before. That means that the whole Magruder Ranch pig will have an entire 14 hours to slow cook and tenderize. Is your mouthwatering yet? We know ours are!
Top that off with a side of wood-fired roasted vegetables, corn, salads and refreshing RIVINO wine and you’ve got the perfect way to welcome the Summer Solstice. After you’ve enjoyed your meal and settle into your food coma, just sit back and relax as you enjoy the fun-loving accordion and guitar playing of Monty & Jay. Hopefully it won’t take you long to get up on your feet and dance the night away.
This event will take place between 5pm and 8pm at the RIVINO Winery and is priced at $95 total, or $65 for Wine Club Members. For more information, visit the official RIVINO website. We hope to see you soon!
