There are many exciting outdoor events going on along the Mendocino Coast right now! One event in particular that will be coming up on September 1st is the Caspar Classic Mountain Bike Race in Jackson State Demonstration Forest, sponsored by the Mendocino Coast Cyclists. The race begins at 10am along this beautiful California coastline and is sure to be enjoyed by cyclists, cycling fans and enthusiasts alike.
The Mendocino Coast Cyclists is a riding club that promotes responsibility and safety on bike trails and roads. The race starts at the Caspar Scales, off of Road 500 in Caspar, CA and avid riders will get the opportunity to race with the best riders in the area, including previous winners Brian Astell, Kevin Smallman and Mathias Berhends.
The course is 11 miles and the race has four levels depending on the experience level of the riders; the elite (which is a 3 lap race), the veterans (a 2 lap race) and the sport and juniors category (both 1 lap races). No rider needs to feel left out as riders of any level will be able to participate and enjoy the competition!
The Caspar Classic is a challenging ride for all participants. With high elevations and worthy competition, riders will definitely feel the burn and satisfaction once the race is complete! To celebrate, there will be a big BBQ and delicious refreshments for riders and race fans at the finish line.
The Caspar Classic Mountain Bike Race is just one of the area’s exciting events happening in the area as the summer comes to an end, and the Cleone Gardens Inn is fortunate to be in the perfect location for riders and race fans to stay and enjoy the race.
The entire family can enjoy a delightful stay in the Fort Bragg, Mendocino area; visit the trails, walk through the lush gardens, enjoy the bike race and have the pleasure of a great night’s rest at Cleone Gardens Inn.
