Cleone Gardens Inn is located near many fun and unique events going on in the local Fort Bragg area. In March, the Fort Bragg Whale Festival begins on the 16th, which also includes a lot of exciting activities and exhibits to choose from.
Over 20, 000 gray whales are expected to show up for this two-day celebration. Pacific gray whales and their newborn calves, grace the waters of the Mendocino Coast twice each year during their migration. They journey from the lagoons of Western Baja to the waters of the Bering Sea. Their entire trip there and back is about 10,000 miles, which is the longest migration of any mammal. This festival offers onlookers the rare chance to be a part of this beautiful and natural process.
The festival also hosts an array of other activities to enjoy, such as chowder tasting at the Town Hall and the Passport Wine Tasting. At this wine tasting event, you can sip some of Mendocino County’s best vineyard offerings and there is also a microbrew tasting for the beer connoisseurs. After enjoying the delicious food and libations, you can work it all off by participating in the MacKerricher State Park’s scavenger hunt or the annual 5k run and walk-a-thon.
Cleone Gardens Inn is a great place to stay during the Whale festival, located within minutes of Fort Bragg, visitors can enjoy the festival and end the day with a relaxing stay in our peaceful and comfortable surroundings. If whale watching is not your activity of choice, there are many other interesting things to do in the Fort Bragg area, even if it’s just taking a scenic drive through Mendocino County or relaxing at the Inn and enjoying a walk through the gorgeous Cleone Gardens landscapes.
